Newsbrief: The Raspberry Pi, a cheap and tiny computer designed to teach programming to students in the UK, will soon receive a port of the Android 4.0 operating system, allowing developers to create Android-based games for the device.
In a post on the official Raspberry Pi website, creator Eben explained that hardware-accelerated graphics and video are already in place, but that the AudioFlinger support is still a work-in-progress. The company is currently looking to release the sources for the implementation as soon as possible.
The credit card-sized, single-board computer was developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a charity that includes game industry veteran and Elite co-developer David Braben in its board of trustees.
