Newsbrief: Big name Zynga executives are jumping ship in the wake of the social game giant's recent earnings shortfall. COO John Schappert stepped down from the company earlier this month, and now CityVille's general manager Alan Patmore has also bailed.

Patmore has moved to strategy game developer Kixeye, best known for Backyard Monsters, as its vice president of product, where he will be responsible for all aspects of the company's development and strategy plans.

Prior to his time at Zynga, Patmore also held a vice president of product development position at Stacking studio Double Fine Productions. Kixeye now houses over 250 employees at its San Francisco-based headquarters.
