Newsbrief: Just months after vice president and COO Mikio Watanabe of Deathsmiles developer Cave resigned from the company for personal reasons, the company's president and CEO has now also jumped ship.

A new statement from Cave notes that Ito Masahito has also left the company for personal reasons. Kenichi Takano, chairman of the board at Cave, has taken over the president role.

The Japanese company was founded back in 1994, and is best known for its shoot 'em ups like Deathsmiles and the Dodonpachi series.

Really wished they would have released Deathsmiles IIX retail over here in the U.S. instead of the lazy $30 Japanese ISO rip. :\ I love me some Cave SHMUPS. I import all the (non-region locked) titles from Japan. Here's hoping they continue to make great games.
