Newsbrief: Apple naysayers have been well and truly put in their place today, as the upcoming iPhone 5 saw more preorders in its first 24 hours on sale than any iPhone before it.
Over 2 million pre-orders for the iPhone 5 were made in the first 24 hours of it being on sale. In comparison, last year's iPhone 4S saw just over 1 million pre-orders in its first 24 hours, meaning the iPhone 5 has doubled that previous record.
The iPhone 5, due to launch on September 21, is slightly thinner and lighter than the 4S model, with a display that is .5 inches bigger, and a new A6 chip that promises 100 percent faster performance overall. Gamasutra's Chris Morris noted recently that he believes the device will have a huge impact on video games.
I am passing on this one, and considering moving to another platform after I get bored of my iPhone 4. Guess why? I can't fathom the pricing of their adapter+cable bundle for the new "Lightning" plug. Not that I cannot afford it, but I just want to show Apple even an enthusiast can be put off by their scandalous practices. The price of an Xbox360 controller for this tiny thing, knowing the controller earns Microsoft big margins? No thank you...
Why didn't you report on that tid-bit? Maybe I missed it? I doubt it.
