Following a disappointing launch, Funcom's MMO The Secret World has a new game director, Joel Bylos, who will look to expand and enhance the original release through post-launch content.

The long-awaited game only saw 200,000 purchases in the two months after launch, forcing Funcom to lay off employees and shift its business away from large games, focusing in the future on smaller games.

Bylos was previously lead content designer on The Secret World, as well as lead designer on content for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. He will work alongside the MMO's creative director Ragnar Tornquist in a bid to pull in more users.

I'm still waiting for it to go Free 2 Play. I just don't have the time to invest to get the perceived value necessary out of a subscription model.
