Newsbrief: British trade body UKIE has elected six new members to its board of directors, including several new developers from a variety of game industry markets.

Those new members include Splash Damage CEO Paul Wedgwood (Brink); Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson (Football Manager), Revolution Software Limited owner and COO Noirin Carmody (Broken Sword), and MakieLab CEO and founder Alice Taylor (Makies dolls).

UKIE also added new board members from SCE UK/Ireland and Nintendo Europe (Fergal Gara and Neil Boyd, respectively), which have held seats on the board before. The group's deputy chairman Ian Livingstone was re-elected, as were two other board members, Ubisoft's Rob Cooper and Electronic Arts' Keith Ramsdale.

The organization aims to support UK's developers, publishers, and console makers, advocating issues relevant to those companies like tax production credits, PEGI ratings, and reforming the country's education system to better prepare students to enter the game industry.

UKIE's CEO Dr. Jo Twist says adding these new board members from different parts of the industry is critical to keeping the association diverse, so that the group can remain relevant and accountable to the industry, and respond to members' concerns.
