D3 Announces XBLA Puzzle Quest Expansion Pack

D3Publisher has announced it will release a new expansion pack for the Infinite Interactive-developed Puzzle Quest on Xbox Live Arcade in Spring 2008, adding new professions, spells, items, monsters and quests.

D3P says the expansion pack will add further gameplay hours, 50 new spells and 40 new items, as well as four new Hero professions: Bard, Rogue, Ranger and Warlock. Additionally, the Southern Map will be expanded with 25 additional quests.

D3P is soliciting titles for the new pack through a public contest at the official site; for now, the expansion is simply titled "Puzzle Quest: 1.5". The winning title in the competition, running from March 17th-21st, will be announced on April 2nd.

Said D3P product development VP Peter Andrew, "Infinite Interactive has delivered much more than the average expansion pack and the incredible amount of content that it will include sets a new precedent for offerings on Xbox Live Arcade. As much as ‘Puzzle Quest 1.5’ appropriately describes the new content, we look forward to having our fans name the next iteration in the Puzzle Quest universe.”
