Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list.

This week brings Dishonored, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Just Dance 4, and Pokemon Black and White Version 2 to retailers in North America, while Japan gets Bravely Default: Flying Fairy and Project X Zone.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending October 13th, 2012.

Games Released in the United States:

Arkane Studios' first-person stealth-action game Dishonored premieres worldwide this week, offering a storyline in which players perform a series of assassinations using unlockable gadgets and upgradable supernatural abilities.

Other major multiplatform releases include Ubisoft's dancing sim sequel Just Dance 4 and Firaxis Games' sci-fi strategy title XCOM: Enemy Unknown, while Nintendo 3DS owners can expect to see a pair of sequels to 2011's Pokemon White and Pokemon Black.

VBlank Entertainment's retro-themed Grand Theft Auto parody Retro City Rampage headlines this week's digital lineup on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, while XBLA hosts the Xbox Live Gold-exclusive free-to-play action game Happy Wars.

Games Released in Japan:

Square Enix and 3D Dot Game Heroes developer Silicon Studio team up to launch the anticipated fantasy-themed RPG Bravely Default: Flying Fairy for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan this week.

The 3DS will also host Project X Zone, a Banpresto-developed strategy-RPG that features a cast of over 200 characters from Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai franchises.

Is the UK release too on the 12th?

Still unbelievable in the digital distribution age that there are gaps of almost a week between releases in different countries...

Yes it's the 12lth here, you'd think digital wouldn't need to abide by an archaic brick and mortar store law but I heard somebody still buys games offline.

Yup. And then sitting on the retail 3 days before it's getting unlocked due to DD region control ;-)

Regarding region locks, there are VPNs. It's like flying to the US with your laptop ;)

In Europe, if you look around, you can get both for about £50 (e.g. getgamesgo.com for XCOM)
