Newsbrief: Take-Two today announced that the next game in the Civilization strategy franchise will be an MMO for Asian territories, developed by South Korean-based studio XLGAMES.

Civilization Online will be an online-only experience, with a team of over 100 people working on the title. Take-Two claims this is "one of the most ambitious online game development initiatives taking place in South Korea."

Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two, noted that the move is in aid of pushing his company's online and mobile social projects in Asia.
