Newsbrief: Video game retailer GameStop today revealed a new initiative to boost holiday sales, as it launched 80 GameStop Kids stores, dealing specifically in children's video games.

The new holiday stores will stock a selection of kids' games, including toys and games from the Skylanders series, Angry Birds plush toys and Minecraft toys.

The first GameStop Kids store is now open in Grapevine Mills Mall, Texas, with the rest due to open over the coming weeks. A full list of the stores can be found on GameStop's website.

Seems kind of unnecessary to me, but whatever floats gamestops boat. i know the days leading up to christmas the gamestops in my hometown are always strip-mined even the bargain bins don't go unscathed and i pity the fool who walks in looking for a new game on christmas eve.
