TV games platform company PlayJam is expanding its home console plans beyond Western territories, as the company announced today that it has licensed its technology to power a new Asian games console.

Hardware manufacturer Avantis will utilize PlayJam's TV games platform technnology to develop a home games console for the Korean and Japanese markets.

PlayJam's Games Platform provides developers with the toolsets to promote, monetize and distribute content through connected TV devices. The platform offers online leaderboard support, ad serving, and analytics via its SDK, amongst other features.

KJ Yoo, president at Avantis, noted that by licensing GameJam's tech, Avantis will now be able to focus on designing the hardware, rather than requiring a substantial investment researching the base technology.

Besides licensing out its TV games platform technology, it's worth noting that PlayJam is currently putting the final touches on its own GameStick Android device.
