Newsbrief: Today Facebook kicked off the first of its series of conferences aimed at courting mobile developers. Held in New York City, the Mobile Developer Conference arrives in conjunction with three new developer tools to assist app and game virality.

The tools --a mobile-friendly Open Graph, improved Facebook Login, and new Facebook SDK 3.5 for iOS-- are geared toward the social network's shift to "a mobile-first platform."
