- Ryan Stefanelli, one of the co-founders of the now-defunct Vigil Games, wishes Nordic Games luck with the future of the Darksiders franchise.

Vigil Games, best known for the Darksiders franchise, was forced to close earlier this year as part of THQ's bankruptcy, although a number of staffers were taken in by Crytek.

With the Darksiders IP up for grabs as part of the THQ sale, Crytek was hoping to pick the property up. However, it emerged earlier this week that Nordic Games put in the highest bid for the franchise.

Taking to the Nordic Games forums, Stefanelli (who is now at Crytek) said to make the next Darksiders game "adventurous."

"Do what we would've done: let people know what happens when those other three comets land on Earth!" he added. "Four player co-op or bust!"

Elsewhere, Vigil's former lead combat designer Ben Cureton (now also at Crytek) said, "If you actually ever go forward with the Darksiders franchise, be sure to focus on the things that made DS and DS2 cool."

He continued, "Things like... that feeling of adventure, the fast-paced combat, the sense of scale, quality voice acting..."

"If you are ever in doubt of what to do... just add more skulls!" he joked.

He finished, "That being said, if you decide you don't want to continue making games for the series, let me know. We'd be more than happy to take the IP off your hands. In fact, you can even have all of the money that DS1 and DS2 continue to generate!"
