Gamasutra's sister property App Developers Conference has announced the launch of a standalone blog, called App Dev Stories, which tells the human stories behind the most interesting apps.

Largely concentrating on apps outside of games, the site will have multiple weekly updates. Articles will talk to some of the smartest developers out there about their creative process, their background, the tools they use to make their apps, and their favorite apps to use and download.

The first story features Jonatan Liljedahl and Hakan Lidbo discussing their innovative iOS audio app, Yellofier - commissioned by Swiss electronic music pioneers, Yello.

Upcoming interviews include chats with the creators of super-smart drawing apps, surprising sex education apps, neat layout apps, and a host more - with app recommendation interviews with some of the net's brightest creators also in process.

This should make App Dev Stories, which has a Twitter account and RSS feed you can follow, a must-read if you're looking into the art behind the past, present, and future of apps.

The show it supports, App Developers Conference, is co-located with the game-focused GDC Next event, taking place on November 5th-7th, 2013 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Talk submissions for both shows are open until May 29th.
