If it's anything like every voice controlled technology today:
Xbox Home. Xbox...Home. Grr X. Box. Home. Exxx. Boooox. Hoooome. Uggghhhh. Pick up your controller and navigate home.
Is there any chance that Microsoft has accomplished what everybody else couldn't?
Heavy Live services features, lots of TV, bigtime Kinect integration, Smartglass extensions, Windows 8 OS element? Check.
Nothing surprising so far.
Even the architecture design was predicted -- stuff like the 8GB DDR3 instead of PS4's GDDR5, or the choice to use embedded EDRAM for the GPU, as opposed to the asynchronous reads on PS4.
So as we thought, PS4 likely has the technical edge out of the gate.
So - we get 30 minutes on how you can watch TV. 35 minutes to an actual game (not counting the brief flashes earlier). Sports games from EA. 40 minutes to an actual driving game. A new Remedy game! Well, that could be... wait, why is it FMV? And now we have a very exciting announcement! A new Halo... TV series! Okay, back to how you can watch football on it while playing fantasy football. Finally, here's that new Call of Duty everyone was expecting. It'll be on PS4 too.
Apparently this isn't a games box. It can play them, but it's incidental. That was even worse than Sony's PS4 reveal.
'Favorite' moment paraphrased - 'We've gone past the limits of operating systems... the XBox One has three operating systems!'
Im thinking they just created a new thing " TV griefing". Now everyone in the room can control the TV? oh my..
plus how can it tell conversations from commands? What if someone says " you want to watch cbs?" wont it then turn to cbs? even if you dont want to? I mean if I say " dude survivors sucks" it will quite annoying if the xbox turns on survivor.
Hopefully they have ironed out those issues, but I cant figure out how they could.
