Developers interested in applying to this year's Art Works: Media Arts grant through the National Endowment for the Arts may want to sign up for a new seminar being hosted by the NEA on May 30th, 3:00-4:00 pm Eastern Time.

For those unfamiliar with the National Endowment for the Arts, here is the official description of its Media Arts category:

The NEA Media arts category offers grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to support the development, production, distribution, preservation, restoration, and archiving of projects that demonstrate media as art and media about the arts. Media arts, as defined by the NEA, includes narrative and documentary films, television and radio programs; experimental, animated, transmedia, or interactive work; platforms can include the Internet, mobile, and tablet technologies, video game consoles, and satellite-delivered content. Please note: under these guidelines an organization can submit more than one application to the Arts Endowment if they are for separate projects.

The May 30th webinar will provide an overview of the application process, tips for a strong application, and a Q&A.

"The NEA's Art Works grants support the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and the strengthening of communities through the arts," says the NEA. "Within these areas, innovative projects are strongly encouraged."

Those interested in attending the webinar can register in advance or obtain call-in information from the National Endowment for the Arts's website.

This year's Art Works: Media Arts deadline is August 8th, 2013.
