[Outgoing magazine EIC Patrick Miller writes the following on the occasion of Game Developer magazine closing its doors this month.]

Well, it's about that time. Last call for Game Developer; you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.

As a way of saying thank you one last time to our longtime subscribers and devoted community, we're making our final issue freely available as a downloadable PDF, which you can find here at the Game Developer website.

In this issue, you'll find a postmortem for the magazine itself, a collection of stories about last-minute saves and workarounds in game dev, a final postmortem for God of War: Ascension, and a whole lot of goodbyes.

So grab a copy for yourself, share it with your friends, read it, maybe cry a little (we won't tell, honest). And then get back to making the best damn games you can make.

(And if you don't get a physical copy of the magazine in the mail, look for copies in the publication bins at E3 in Los Angeles next week.)

-Patrick Miller
Editor, Game Developer magazine

PS - We'll be making the complete archive of Game Developer magazine available on a special page on the GDC Vault website some time in the near future. This will include the 2013 Game Career Guide special issue, which will release for free online in the next few weeks and be available for distribution. We'll update when it's live.

How about ACTUALLY sending my last 5 missing issues that I did pay for, and also try to answer the support mails I'm sending.

Wessam, it sucks that you're not getting issues, but the editors have nothing to do with whether issues get sent, and don't get support emails. and I guarantee only the editors are reading this...

Phyne Games, specially thank you for the interview last year, first (and probably only) Mexican studio there.
