CDV Expands European Presence With UK Office

German publisher CDV Software Entertainment has announced the opening of a new office in London, expanding the studio’s European presence to the United Kingdom.
The office’s establishment follows CDV’s announcement in May that it had acquired exclusive rights from publisher Gamecock Media Group to license, market, and distribute the Austin-based company’s titles in Europe.
The deal - which includes games from Gamecock’s catalog such as Mushroom Men, Velvet Assassin, and Hail To The Chimp - significantly broadens CDV’s portfolio of games (Sacred 2: Fallen Angel) due for release in Europe in 2008 and 2009.
David Walker, who has previously held management positions at Virgin Interactive, THQ, and 505 games, will head up the office as managing director. He will be assisted by marketing manager Matthew Walker, whose previous experience includes marketing positions at Virgin Interactive, Activision, and Crave.
