Earlier this year, online game portal Kongregate announced a new $10 million initiative to help fund up-and-coming free-to-play mobile game developers. Now the company has named the five studios that are benefiting from the move.

The GameStop-owned Kongregate told Gamasutra back in February that it is acting as a mobile publisher for the first time, allowing developers to keep their IP, and offering funding and support for a percentage of the royalties.

Five mobile games will be published through the funding scheme later this summer, with Tyrant: Unleashed from Synapse Games, a collectible card game, the first title to drop in July.

This will be followed up by BloodRealm from co-developers RedPoint Labs and Making Fun, Sheep Happens from Lingplay (pictured), Endless Boss Fight from White Milk Games, and Cardinal Quest 2 from Randomnine Ltd.

Kongregate says that its online reach sets it apart from other mobile publishers. The company boasts that each mobile title will reach tens of millions of monthly visitors across Kongregate and GameStop online properties.

There are more titles to come from Kongregate's mobile game publishing push too, with more games to be announced later this year.
