Although video streaming service Twitch has already secured some rather big deals in the past year, including broadcasting on Origin and Xbox 360, the company's latest deal may be its biggest.

Twitch users can now link their Twitch account to their Steam account. In particular, this is big news for Dota 2 fans, who can now watch tournament matches via Twitch, and receive item drops through Steam at the same time.

And it sounds like this is just the start of a relationship between Twitch and Valve, as the latter says that it will be working with Twitch to expand on the features available via this system in the months to come.

Twitch is a San Francisco-based video platform built specifically to help people easily broadcast and watch gameplay. It currently has more than 35 million unique monthly viewers.

Just last month, the company opened up its broadcasting services to all game developers and launched a new version of its Twitch SDK, offering an expanded set of APIs, as well as broadcasting support for Unity PC games.
