Telltale bringing Walking Dead to Ouya
Telltale bringing Walking Dead to Ouya
August 27, 2013 | By Kris Ligman

Telltale has announced it is bringing its critically acclaimed and commercially successful The Walking Dead series to Ouya.

As confirmed in the company's blog, The Walking Dead's first season and 400 Days DLC chapter would both be coming to the microconsole "this winter."

"We have an Ouya set up in the office and the team's been discovering tons of great games from developers large and small," Telltale said in its announcement. "We're all thrilled to add The Walking Dead to the mix."

The company said that Walking Dead's previously announced second season would also be headed to the platform. Telltale senior vice president of publishing Steve Allison added via a statement that the Ouya versions of the games would be "the same" as on other platforms.

There are presently no announced plans to bring the game to Android tablets or phones.

Wow that is some great news for this platform after all the punches they'd taken post launch.

Just slightly worried about the performance, since TWD didn't do well on my $1,5k computer and crashed around 30 minutes before the ending, destroying my savegame and therefore the entire run... hope they do a good port that may pushes the Ouya a bit. I think it is a very fitting game for that console.

Slightly would be an understatement. They'll have to retool all of the assets and shaders to get it run acceptably on Tegra 3.

Wish they would invest in some cool exclusives first.

Is already out on iOS and Android. I don't see the port from that taking more than a month or two at most.

I always wonder about decisions like this, the Ouya is a niche console atm, and I'd wager to guess that most of it's market have already played the title.
