Crytek announced today that it is bringing its free-to-play PC first-person shooter Warface
to Microsoft's Xbox 360 for early 2014.
developer is partnering with Microsoft Studios to publish Warface
on the platform, retaining its free-to-play monetization model. Xbox Live Gold membership will allow players to participate in online competitive and co-op missions.
Several Xbox titles are currently flirting with a free-to-play model, including Happy Warz
and the upcoming Ascend: Hand of Kul
. Wargaming's World of Tanks
is currently in beta for the 360, though Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi said in July
that Microsoft's certification process proves a bit of a barrier to facilitating free-to-play on the platform.
