BioWare has a new head, as Matthew Bromberg takes the reins - report
Electronic Arts has finally named a new boss for BioWare, having left the position vacated since co-founder Greg Zeschuk stepped down last year
, according to media reports.
Matthew Bromberg is now head of the BioWare label, according to
Venturebeat, putting him in charge of franchises like Dragon Age
and Mass Effect
Bromberg was previously general manager at BioWare Austin, and his new official title is group general manager of the entire BioWare label. In this position, he will lead the Austin studio, as well as BioWare Canada, the Victory studio in L.A., and the Waystone studio in Redwood City, CA.
Jeff Hickman has also been named as the new general manager at BioWare Austin, filling Bromberg's previous position. Gamasutra has contacted EA for confirmation.
It's not a massive surprise that Bromberg has been handed the reins, as BioWare co-founders Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka picked the industry veteran to lead the Austin branch last year.
