New ADC talks: 3D inputs for apps, monetizing mobile moments
GDC sister event App Developers Conference
organizers have announced two new talks added to the November line-up: game and app developer Eddie Lee (Kyoto
) on designing apps to take advantage of new 3D gesture input tech, and rewards network Kiip on pinpointing and monetizing the important moments in app users' digital lives.
From the creators of the largest and longest-running game professional-focused Game Developers Conference
(GDC), the brand new App Developers Conference (ADC) offers professionals a venue to share their knowledge about building, designing, marketing, and selling their apps. ADC will run November 5th-7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be co-located with GDC Next
In 'Developing Apps in the 3rd Dimension,'
Funktronic Labs developer Eddie Lee will draw from his experience developing IGF 2013-nominated PixelJunk 4am
for use with the PS Move controller, and his own Leap Motion-compatible Kyoto
(pictured), to talk about how designing apps for 3D inputs offer developers new creative opportunities -- and new potential pitfalls. He'll also cover how to combine 3D gestures with audio and visual feedback mechanisms to give the user a truly immersive experience.
Old marketing habits like banners fail to capture the important parts of smartphone users' digital lives, but Kiip VP of Business Development will offer Steve Cho his tips on creating closer connections and meaningful engagement in his talk, 'Stop Ruining and Start Owning Mobile Moments.'
Developers will discover how to pinpoint, leverage, and own their users' most significant moments within their ecosystem to connect with their audience -- and how to successfully monetize said moments.
These sessions join a number of previously announced talks by Netflix, Pandora, Evernote, and more -- all of which are now available on our expanding interactive Session Scheduler
