SingStar 's Bozek Follows Harrison To Atari

SingStar producer Paulina Bozek will lead a new in-house development studio at Atari. The new, currently unnamed studio will be based in Hammersmith, West London and will focus on "mass-market" consumer games and services for PC and consoles.

For the last six years, Bozek has worked as executive producer and game director of the SingStar series of karaoke games, based at Sony’s London Studio. Particularly popular in Europe, the games have sold over 15 million units and achieved lifetime revenues of approximately $500 million.

Bozek follows former Sony worldwide studios head Phil Harrison to Atari, after he joined parent company Infogrames as president in March. Harrison’s long-stated intent has been to refocus the company on casual and online titles, rather than traditional hardcore games.

"This is a significant step in expanding Atari's online game development capability," said Harrison. "Paulina is one of the industry's most respected creative leaders with an outstanding track record of commercial and creative success and I'm delighted that she will bring her unique vision, consumer insight and proven ability for creating amazing entertainment experiences to Atari."

"I am very excited to be joining Atari at this pivotal time for both the company and the industry," said Bozek. "There is a huge opportunity as gaming platforms become more ubiquitous, more connected and attract more mainstream audiences. Atari has a great vision for the future and I can’t wait to start realizing that vision in new products and services."
