Newsbrief: A UK judge has ruled that Zynga's
Scramble with Friends does not infringe on Mattel's own
Scrabble trademarks.
Board game manufacturer Mattel had complained that Zynga's own version of
Scrabble was too close to the original -- in particular, the company said that the words "Scrabble" and "Scramble" were too close.
The English High Court has now said that the two words are not too similar -- although Zynga has been ordered to alter the logo for its game, as it "gives the impression that the word is
Scrabble when one looks at it quickly and has the propensity to confuse."
Mattel says that it plans to appeal the ruling,
reports the BBC.
