Polytron Corporation announced this morning that Fez has sold over 1 million copies across all platforms, including Xbox Live, PSN, and Mac/PC.

The news came via a blog post on the Polytron website. Choice quotes include "We couldn't have done it without you!", "Thank you for buying the game! Thank you for stealing it!" and "Thank you for putting up with the bullshit!"

No further information about what this might mean for the future of Polytron was given -- Fish said earlier this year that he was leaving game development and stopping work on a Fez sequel. Both Fish and programmer Renaud Bedard seem to be focusing on other interests after working together on Fez.

To better understand what makes the development of this game so unique (and the toll it took on Phil Fish), have a look back at our report on the making of Fez.

Good for it, now where's my Vita version? I'm sure as hell never playing the PC version again, it took me a week to recalibrate my clock. >_>
