Rogue creator helps choose 'Ultimate Roguelike' contest winners

Newsbrief: Glenn Wichman, co-creator on the original 1980s dungeon-crawler Rogue, which essentially started the roguelike game genre, has helped pick the winners of an "Ultimate Roguelike Challenge" competition.

Organized by Bungie art director Christopher "Oryx" Barrett, who is well-known in the indie community for creating gorgeous roguelike tilesets and visuals, the competition saw participants all creating games using the same tileset.

The judging panel consisted of Wichman, Barrett and Cardinal Quest creator Ido Yehieli. The winner was Adventuring Company from Slothwerks, which can be downloaded for Android, or played in a browser.

All of the entries can be found on the official website.
