Newsbrief: UK video game festival GameCity today announced that Spaceteam from Sleeping Beast Games has won the third annual GameCity Prize award.

Developed by former BioWare developer Henry Smith for iOS devices, Spaceteam is a party game in which 2-4 players locally pilot a shapeship together across multiple mobile devices.

The game has previously been lauded at both the Berlin Games Festival, and the Independent Games Festival. Previous GameCity Prize winners were Journey and Minecraft.

Did try this at the Virgin Media Game Space in London a while ago. Really interesting and seemingly fun game, though plauged with game-breaking hardware issues at that time and place. Nice seeing them getting more awards, it's a fun game, even with strangers (maybe especially with strangers) that gets quite intense after a while!
