Game Developers Conference 2014 organizers have chosen 14 teams for the debut of ALT.CTRL.GDC, an on-site exhibit of alternative control schemes and interactions, including the Oculus Rift and AKAI LPD8 paired Please Don't, Spacedog!, caterpillar sim Roflpillar, and 16-button arcade stick-controlled Tenya Wanya Teens, co-created by Katamari Damacy director Keita Takahashi.

ALT.CTRL.GDC is open to all attendees and will make its debut showcase on one of GDC's exhibit floors from Wed-Fri, March 19th-21st. Out of almost 90 submissions, organizers have chosen 14 indie-centric, one-of-a-kind game peripherals and unique tech pairings that challenge commonly accepted forms of input.

Here's a sample of just a few of the unique interactions, attendees will be able to print out a receipt of their interactive fiction experience with the Choosatron Deluxe Adventure Matrix, communicate via phone to play briefcase-shelled RGBriefcase, and fiddle with switches, patch cables and knobs in the Space Invaders-styled Analog Defender.

The entire roster of 14 is as follows, alphabetically:

- Robin Baumgarten's A Dozen Sliders
- Patrick Dinnen & Alexander Martin (Droqen)'s Analog Defender
- Droqen's Bonus Look
- Joon's Canabalt x 100 (world premiere!)
- Monkey with a Mustache's Choosatron Deluxe Adventure Matrix
- Alan Zucconi's MCMC
- Fernando Ramallo and David Kanaga's Panoramical
- KO-OP Mode's Please Don't, Spacedog!
- Mario von Rickenbach's Rakete
- David Hayward, Jon Brodsky, and George Buckenham's RGBriefcase
- Lucky Frame's Roflpillar
- Brian Gabor Jr. and Ted Molinski's Slapfest
- Uvula (Keita Takahashi), Venus Patrol, and Wild Rumpus' Tenya Wanya Teens
- Voxon's Voxiebox (first GDC appearance for the 3D voxel display!)

Teams will showcase their games and devices at the ALT.CTRL.GDC exhibit area at Moscone's North Hall -- alongside the GDC Play area and revamped Career Center. Any questions about the exhibit should be directed to ALT.CTRL.GDC's organizer, sister site IndieGames's editor-in-chief John Polson.

Organizers have announced a host of other exciting interactive exhibits for GDC 2014, including the Videogame History Museum's Nintendo history showcase, the Iam8Bit Game Trivia Challenge, the 'Doing It On The Table' Board Game Exhibit, The MADE Game History Exhibit, and an exhibit from The Wild Rumpus indie showcase collective.

Registration for GDC 2014 itself is now live. For more information on the show's growing lineup, check out GDC 2014's official Schedule Builder, which continues to add new talks every week.

GDC 2014 itself will take place March 17-21 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. More information about Game Developers Conference 2014 is available via its official website. For all the latest updates, you can subscribe via RSS, Facebook, or Twitter.
