: A year ago, a German consumer advocacy group filed an official complaint against Valve
, stating that its digital reselling policy on Steam goes against European Union law. The Regional Court of Berlin has now dismissed the complaint.
The Federation of German Consumer Association (VZBV) said at the time that Valve's current system is not in the interest of consumers. Valve's Doug Lombardi rebutted the claims, stating that "this issue has already been ruled upon favorably to Valve in a prior case."
Now as reported by law firm Osborne Clarke
, and as spotted by
CVG, the Regional Court of Berlin has thrown the lawsuit out, although it has not yet published exactly why. VZBV may still have the right to appeal the decision.
