'Twitch Plays Pokemon' is proving too popular for Twitch's servers
The overwhelming popularity of the Twitch Plays Pokemon
broadcasting channel is proving a double-edged sword, as it's causing Twitch some notable load issues.
The channel takes text strings from the live viewer chat and converts them into button presses where possible. These button presses are then fed into the classic Game Boy title.
Twitch says that the channel, which has now seen over 100,000 concurrent viewers and millions of unique hits, is causing chat issues on other channels, due to overwhelming load on the system.
The company has been forced to move the channel to its own dedicated chat server, but it's still proving an issue. You should head over to the Twitch blog post
