Passes for the Game Developers Conference 2014
are still available, and today we're excited to announce more details about a few cool floor exhibits that will be open to all GDC passholders
(from Expo to All-Access) at various points during the week of the 2014 Game Developers Conference, March 17-21.
Starting on Monday, March 17th, GDC is proud to host "Deathmatch with John Romero," a designated area where attendees will be able to drop in at any time to play FPS classic Doom
with up to seven other attendees, with select appearances by Doom
co-creator John Romero himself and other special guests.
Eight gaming PCs running Doom
and accompanying accoutrements (provided by Razer!) will be networked together and available for drop-in play on the second floor of the West Hall of the Moscone Convention Center from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Thursday, March 17-20, and 10 AM to 3 PM on Friday, March 21st. All matches will be played to a specific frag count, and house rules state that the lowest-scoring player must give up the chair to the next person in line.
To keep abreast of when Romero is playing -- as well as what other cool stuff is going on during the conference -- keep an eye on the @Official_GDC Twitter account
On the floor above you'll find GDC's Table Draw area, a designated space for attendees to get creative with by drawing art in real-time for other attendees to appreciate. Wacom Technology has kindly lent some of its complete line of professional pen tablets and interactive pen displays for designers, animators, and artists to the area. The Table Draw exhibit will also be open from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Thursday, March 17-20, and 10 AM to 3 PM on Friday, March 21st. You can find it on the third floor of the West Hall of the Moscone Convention Center.
GDC 2014 itself will take place March 17-21, 2014 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. You can register for the event by visiting the info page on the official GDC 2014 website
