Good news for student developers: the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, perhaps best known for hosting the annual DICE Awards, has begun accepting applications from students seeking to claim the organization's Randy Pausch and Mark Beaumont scholarships.

The organization's Randy Pausch scholarship offers $2,500 to two students pursuing careers in art, animation, programming, engineering, game direction, game design, sound design, or music composition. The fund honors the memory of the late Carnegie Mellon University professor and co-founder of the school's entertainment technology center.

The Mark Beaumont scholarship also offers two scholarships of $2,500 to students, this time for those specializing in executive leadership, law, marketing, public relations, and business development. This scholarship honors the former COO of Capcom North America and Europe, who passed away in 2010.

Scholarship award winners will also have an opportunity to attend the DICE Awards in Las Vegas next February.

Students can apply for either scholarship from now until June 30 via the AIAS scholarships page. In order to be eligible, students must have a GPA of at least 3.3, be a full-time student and attend an accredited U.S. college or university during the 2013-2014 school year.
