Yoshinori Ono, best known as the producer on Street Fighter IV, today announced that he has resigned as Capcom Vancouver's director -- although it's not yet clear whether he has left Capcom entirely. [SEE UPDATE BELOW]

Ono has previously complained about the working conditions at Capcom, stating that the company has overworked him to the point of hospitalization.

Now the director has posted on Twitter, stating that he has left his role as Capcom Vancouver's director and executive producer. He does not state whether or not he has left Capcom completely -- Gamasutra has contacted Capcom for clarification.

"I had take some time, I think over very carefully about next things," he said on Twitter. "I'd like to watch TV for Brazil World Cup before thinking it!"

Ono has been working as executive producer on Capcom's PlayStation 4 exclusive Deep Down, as well as another un-announced PS4 title, according to his LinkedIn profile.

UPDATE: In two new Tweets posted hours after his original comments, Ono took to clarified his earlier statements, confirming that he has not left Capcom altogether. "Only my role for Capcom Vancouver has ended," Ono tweeted. "My position within Capcom has not changed and I'm still involved in all of the projects that I'm currently working on," another tweet reads.

Having heard his experiences at Capcom (in that first link in the article) I think he has made a wise move and I wish him luck in the future.

Its very worth reading that link, i.e. here it is again...

Jeffrey Crenshaw's post in reply to that link is the best I've ever seen and I think everyone in our industry should read it. He has expressed better than I've been able to do (in previous posts) about how some companies working practices are so bloody awful they have to be stopped. This industry has to change. This bullshit way of treating people has got to end.
