German media company Koch Media announced today that it has cut a deal with Crytek to acquire talent from its Nottingham studio and its rights to the Homefront intellectual property.

Crytek Nottingham was founded in 2009 and is currently working on Homefront: The Revolution. Under the terms of the acquisition, Koch Media will continue development of the game at the new Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.

It's not yet clear how the transition of talent will take place: Crytek claims that the Homefront developers at Crytek Nottingham will "transfer their talents to Koch Media in compliance with English law."

This deal brings the German company's total studio count to three, as Dambuster joins Saints Row developer Deep Silver Volition and the mobile-focused Deep Silver Fishlabs under the aegis of Koch Media.

It's worth noting that Koch Media was itself rumored to be up for sale earlier this month, though it publicly denied the rumor and went on to state (via the Twitter account of Koch-owned publisher Deep Silver) that it was stable and seeking "responsible acquisition opportunities."

Gamasutra has reached out to Crytek for further details on the proposed deal and what it might mean for the developers at Crytek Nottingham. As always, if you or someone you know If you was affected by this deal you can email Gamasutra to tell your story confidentially.
