Newsbrief: The eSports League recorded peak concurrent viewer figures of more than 400,000 people for last week's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition at Gamescom.

The ESL says that 343,638 people were concurrently watching the CS:GO finals live on Twitch at its peak numbers. When you include people watching directly via the game, that concurrent peak total hits 409,368.

Notably, this figure was up 153 percent compared to the previous record for concurrent viewers watching a CS:GO event live, previously set in March of this year.

In total, nearly 3 million unique viewers watched the action last week. The total prize money for the ESL One competition was $250,000.
