Game studio funded by Maltese government lays off majority of staff, according to reports
: TRC Family Entertainment, a multi-media production company fronted by former Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Chris Deering that received millions in funding from the Maltese government
, has reportedly been gutted while staff go unpaid.
According to reports and an internal email sent to TRC employees and as printed by GI.biz
, around 90 percent of staff have been made redundant, while the workforce has gone unpaid for several months.
Back in 2011, TRC said it would develop a "fully fledged" game, ready for digital distribution in the U.S. market around now. That game was Wishingtooth
, a drawing app.
