In Blood Sport, you give blood when you get shot

November 24, 2014 | By Mike Rose

Newsbrief: A Toronto-based team is looking to gamify giving blood, by hooking a set of Xbox controllers up to blood collection machines, and taking the set-up on tour.

According to the Kickstarter campaign, Blood Sport will involve hooking participants up to machines that will intravenously draw blood from your arm everytime you are shot in a first-person shooter.

Two players will face each other, and the idea is to encourage people to give blood in a fun way. The team is looking to take the concept on tour around the time of the Battlefield Hardline launch.

You can find more information on the Kickstarter page.

Update: Funding for the Blood Sport Kickstarter campaign was suspended without explanation this morning. When approached for comment, Kickstarter representatives told CNET it was against company policy to comment on project suspensions.
