Release This: The Dark Spire, Dokapon Journey Arrive Stateside

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list.

Gamers in North America will soon see the Atlus-published RPGs The Dark Spire and Dokapon Journey, along with a PlayStation 2 port of Guitar Hero: Metallica. Europe will soon receive CID The Dummy and Dementium: The Ward, while Japan gets Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon: Sora no Tankentai.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending April 18th, 2009.

Games Released in the United States:

Nintendo Wii:
- Escape the Museum
- Samurai Shodown Anthology
- Zoo Vet: Endangered Animals

PlayStation 2:
- Guitar Hero: Metallica

A pair of awaited Atlus releases highlight an otherwise quiet release week in North America. In the coming days, the company plans to launch its English localization of the RPG board game Dokapon Journey alongside The Dark Spire, a retro-styled first-person dungeon crawler.

Niche publisher Graffiti Entertainment also has two titles on tap for this week: the first-person sci-fi shooter C.O.R.E. and the fantasy-themed RPG Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled. On other platforms, the PlayStation 2 will host a port of Guitar Hero: Metallica, as Wii owners get the one-on-one fighter compilation Samurai Shodown Anthology.
