Solid State Networks Unveils Two-Part Publisher Suite

Content delivery solutions developer Solid State Networks will now offer Solid Publisher, a suite comprised of two products intended to offer direct-to-consumer delivery in one interface.

The company says its Solid Current product is aimed at minimizing game delivery and setup time for end users through an interface that handles downloads, installing, update and launch functionality.

The second product in the suite, Solid Publisher: Direct, is intended to allow developers to promote, brand and monetize their games. Solid State says that Solid Publisher evolved from its original update software, Current.

"By offering a complete game publishing package, we are able to offer substantially more value to developers and publishers, but, more importantly, they are able to offer greater value to their gamers," says VP of game services Skylar Kreisher. "The value for game makers is a direct and more profitable way to distribute titles to their audiences. The value for gamers is that they get an easy way to get the games and get into playing them much faster than ever before."

Solid Publisher uses Solid State's content delivery tech, which it says has been used to deliver games to "millions" of players since 2006.
