505 Games, Paramount Ink Deal For Grease Movie Games

505 Games has signed a deal with Paramount Digital Entertainment for the rights to co-publish Wii and DS video games based on the classic musical film Grease.

"The 'Grease' movie is a timeless pop culture icon, and 505 Games is eager to bring the first interactive experience based on the film to fans around the world," says 505 president Adam Kline, president of 505 Games.

The Grease video game will use the motion sensing and touchscreen functionalities of Nintendo's two platforms to let players sing and dance with the characters from the movie.

505 Games generally focuses on video game tie-ins with family brands; the London-based company's young North American arm has published games such as Wii Cheer and Hotel for Dogs. It has also said it's working on a multi-platform title based on Olympian swimmer and 14-time gold medalist Michael Phelps, slated for 2010.

Most recently, the company signed a multi-year, multi-title deal with fashion brand IMG to publish games based on Fashion Week events.

"Paramount Digital Entertainment is pleased to be working with 505 Games to develop Grease," says John Kavanagh, SVP of Video Games for Paramount Digital Entertainment. "Grease is the ideal opportunity to reach a broad gaming audience who love to sing, dance and have fun with a party-style game."

I hate to say it, but based on the popularity of the movie/play with every female member of my family (ages 6 to 60), and every ex-girlfriend (except the current one - luckily), I would say that this title should do okay, I just hope no one in my home is playing -lol.

Haha glad to see I'm not the only one with this reaction.

I just hope to god my fiance doesn't find out about this game when it's released! :)
