Release This:  Monster Hunter 3  Premieres in Japan As West Gets  G.I. Joe  Game

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list.

This week brings Monster Hunter 3 and Blood of Bahamut to Japan, while North America gets G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and SingStar: Queen.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending August 8th, 2009.

EA's film tie-in title G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will debut across a majority of platforms in the United States this week.

Collision Studios' third-person action title Brave: A Warrior's Tale also joins the week's multiplatform lineup, as PlayStation 3 and PS2 owners can expect to see the all-Queen karaoke title SingStar Queen.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will also premiere in the UK this week, where it goes up against Codemasters' Europe-exclusive cricket sim Ashes Cricket 2009.

Other titles debuting exclusively in the UK this week include Kart Racer and Peppa Pig on the Nintendo Wii, and Roary the Racing Car and Active Health with Carol Vorderman on the Nintendo DS.

The Nintendo Wii boasts a strong release lineup this week in Japan. Nintendo's console will get Capcom's highly anticipated action-RPG sequel Monster Hunter 3, EA's fitness sim EA Sports Active, and Konami's Wii-exclusive music franchise spinoff title Pop'n Music.

On other platforms, the Xbox 360 will receive the strategy-RPG sequel Magna Carta 2, while PS3 owners get the mahjong title Janline R. Portable console highlights for this week include Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda sidestory Irodzuki Tingle no Koi no Balloon Trip, Namco's Tales of VS., and the Square Enix RPG Blood of Bahamut.
