Release This: Madden NFL 10, Fossil Fighters Premiere Stateside

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list.

This week brings EA's football franchise sequel Madden NFL 10 and Nintendo's Fossil Fighters to retailers in North America, while Japan gets Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist - Akatsuki no Ouji and Infinity Plus Portable.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending August 15th, 2009.

Games Released in the United States:

Nintendo Wii:
- Active Life: Extreme Challenge
- Madden NFL 10
- Monster Mayhem: Build and Battle
- Phantom Brave: We Meet Again
- Real Heroes: Firefighters

Xbox 360:
- Madden NFL 10
- Trials HD (online)

PlayStation 3:
- Madden NFL 10
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (online)

PlayStation 2:
- Madden NFL 10

Nintendo DS:
- C.O.R.E.
- Fossil Fighters
- Imagine: Soccer Captain
- Monster Mayhem: Build and Battle
- Sky Pirates of Neo Terra

PlayStation Portable:
- Madden NFL 10

PC:
- Death to Spies: Moment of Truth
- Joint Operations: Complete Collection
- Polar Sports Vol. 1
- Still Life 2

EA Sports' football franchise sequel Madden NFL 10 will hit multiple platforms in North America this week. The Nintendo Wii is set to host NIS America's strategy-RPG remake Phantom Brave: We Meet Again, along with Namco Bandai's fitness trainer Active Life: Extreme Challenge.

Nintendo's Pokemon-like dinosaur collecting title Fossil Fighters highlights this week's portable lineup, while PC gamers can expect to see a sequel to the 2005 adventure game Still Life.

Games Released in Europe:

Nintendo Wii:
- Madden NFL 10
- Octomania
- Ready, Steady, Cook: The Game
- Skyscraper

Xbox 360:
- Madden NFL 10

PlayStation 3:
- Madden NFL 10

PlayStation 2:
- Madden NFL 10

Nintendo DS:
- The Big Deal
- Gardening Guide
- Ready, Steady, Cook: The Game

PlayStation Portable:
- Madden NFL 10

A slim release lineup awaits gamers in the UK this week, with multiplatform highlights including Madden NFL 10 and the Europe-exclusive cooking sim Ready, Steady, Cook: The Game.

Nintendo DS owners will receive the educational title Gardening Guide, as the Wii gets Compile's puzzler Octomania and the disaster-themed action title Skyscraper.

Games Released in Japan:

Nintendo Wii:
- Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist - Akatsuki no Ouji

PlayStation 2:
- S.Y.K.: Shinsetsu Saiyuuki

Nintendo DS:
- Oubunsha Deru-Jun: Rekishi DS

PlayStation Portable:
- Infinity Plus Portable

After last week's deluge of new releases, Japan has little to offer in this week's lineup. The Nintendo Wii will host the anime-licensed Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist - Akatsuki no Ouji, while the PS2 gets S.Y.K.: Shinsetsu Saiyuuki.

This week's portable offerings include the Nintendo DS educational title Oubunsha Deru-Jun: Rekishi DS and Idea Factory's PSP visual novel compilation Infinity Plus Portable.
