Release This:  Guitar Hero 5, Muramasa  Arrive Stateside

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list.

This week brings Guitar Hero 5 and Muramasa: The Demon Blade to North America, while Japan gets Ousama Monogatari and a PS3 port for 428: Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending September 5th, 2009.

Activision's band simulation sequel Guitar Hero 5 is set to arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, and Nintendo Wii in North America this week. Other multiplatform releases debuting in the coming week include SouthPeak Games' Section 8, the third-person action game Mini Ninjas, and the hunting sim Cabela's Outdoor Adventure.

Gamers in the United States will also receive a selection of notable platform exclusives, including the Vanillaware-developed Wii sidescroller Muramasa: The Demon Blade. PSP owners can expect to see Capcom's one-on-one fighter Fate/Unlimited Codes and Namco Bandai's SoulCalibur spinoff Broken Destiny, while PC MMORPG fans prepare for Cryptic's anticipated Champions Online.

Nintendo's Metroid Prime series compilation Metroid Prime Trilogy is scheduled for release in the UK this week, along with awaited PSP offerings like Dissidia: Final Fantasy and SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny.

Europe will also receive a handful of region-exclusive titles this week, including Kart Racer for the Wii and the Nintendo DS festival game Oktoberfest.

ChunSoft's critically acclaimed Nintendo Wii visual novel 428: Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de gets a PlayStation 3 port in Japan this week. PlayStation 3 owners will also receive Mobile Suit Gundam Senki Record U.C. 0081, as the Nintendo Wii gets Tabemon and Ousama Monogatari (previously released in other regions as Little King's Story).

On portable platforms, the Nintendo DS will host Level 5's detective game Sloane to MacHale no Nazo no Story 2 and Konami's dating sim Love Plus, as the PSP gets Samurai Dou 2 Portable and Marvelous' adventure game Yamamura Misa Suspense: Kyoto Kuramayama Shou Satsujin Jiken.

Is Muramasa out this week? Amazon, and some other retailers are saying it's out next week (9/8). Is this a pre-order thing?

Love Plus is an interesting game. I already pre-ordered it and hope to see it localized stateside eventually.

BTW, is this a new feature? I've never seen this before, but I love how it's a complete list compared to other sites.
