Saling The World: Uncharted 2 Leads Worldwide Multiplatform Sales

Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide.

This week's charts, with data taken from October 15th, 2009, find Uncharted 2 leading worldwide software sales across all platforms, as Shin Megami Tensei: Persona heads domestic sales on the PSP.

Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows:

Nintendo Wii
North America: 1. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo), 2. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 3. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 4. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 5. Wii Play (Nintendo).

UK: 1. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 2. Wii Fit (Nintendo), 3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 4. FIFA 10 (EA Sports), 5. Toy Story Mania (Disney).

Mario Kart Wii moves up two chart spots in this week's Nintendo Wii software sales rankings in North America, with overall results headed by the reigning chart champion Wii Fit Plus.

In Japan, Capcom's recently released port of Okami tops the weekly charts, as Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort trail close behind.

Its really really good to see Demon's Souls do so well!

I'm proud of you, Atlus.

I'm so disgusted with Madden 10. Thank God I only paid $30 at launch, which is probably what it was worth or less. I can't EA and will not buy another Madden game from them unless it's vastly improved. I hope the sales for Madden 10 take a nosedive, maybe then they will learn.

I agree with Wolf, I'm glad Demon Souls is doing great, the reviews are all coming in very high! I'll need to pick this up eventually!

Wow Demon Souls a hard core RPG doing well! I love Valkyria Chronicles and glad Demon Souls didnt have the same fate! Could we finally see PS3 exclusives that bring it back to relevance?

Stupid Demon's Souls and it's being impossible to find in retail... *grumble*

Happy to see Uncharted 2 doing well. I'm especially happy to see Demon's Souls (a game that is totally against the grain of gaming today) doing very, very well. I'd love nothing more than to see Demon's Souls 2 next year.

Neville, wouldn't it be nice to give them a little longer than that to work on it?

Go Demon's Souls! Oh boy the "case studies" it's gonna spur... On the other hand, sorry, but the Wii charts are pathetic. Good for Nintendo, great milking. Bad for just about everyone else in the world (including, I suspect, the very people purchasing these games).

@Brandon

But then I have to wait longer. Surely you see the dilemma. Maybe some DLC would tide me over? Unlocking the World of Giants maybe?

You make a fair point!
I think From Software would say "just play through the game again!"
Surely you haven't beaten it already...?

It's funny to see Love Plus on top of the DS charts considering it's sold sub-100k. something's fishy with amazon japan!

No, I'm still on my 1st play through. I plan to hit New Game+ and such quite a bit. However the game has been out since Feb in Japan. The Armored Core series seems to be an almost yearly event, I just hope Demon Soul's gets a similar treatment.

I'd be curious to see sales in the East vs West on this one. I'd like to see how the various culture gameplay decisions are playing in each region.

No Brutal Legend on the charts? :( I'm loving that game!
