Release This:  New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Left 4 Dead 2  Debut Stateside

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list.

This week brings titles like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Left 4 Dead 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Tony Hawk Ride to store shelves in North America, while the UK gets We Sing and Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.

A number of awaited titles will head for store shelves in North America this week. The Nintendo Wii will get one of this week's biggest releases -- the multiplayer platformer New Super Mario Bros. Wii -- along with Capcom's rail shooter sequel Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.

Notable multiplatform releases for this week include Valve's co-op survival horror shooter Left 4 Dead 2, the skateboard peripheral-bundled Tony Hawk Ride, EA's college basketball sim NCAA Basketball 10, and Ubisoft's stealth-action sequel Assassin's Creed 2.

PlayStation 3 owners will get the God of War series compilation God of War Collection, meanwhile, as the PSP receives a port of Media Molecule's do-it-yourself platformer LittleBigPlanet.

The Nintendo Wii will host the majority of console titles debuting in Japan this week. The platform's lineup includes Hudson's horror-themed adventure game Calling: Kuroki Chakushin, Konami's mat peripheral-bundled minigame compilation Family Challenge Wii, and Namco's drum simulation sequel Taiko no Tatsujin Wii Dodoon to 2 Daime!

The Nintendo DS is set to receive the Doraemon-licensed baseball sim Dorabase 2: Nettou Urutorasu Tajiamu and the DSi-exclusive Monster Finder, while PSP owners can expect to see a localization of Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier and a port of the PS2 mech combat title Armored Core: Silent Line.
