Ready At Dawn Adds Nagel For Game Engine/Platform Sales

God of War: Chains of Olympus and Daxter developer Ready At Dawn Studios has hired Scaleform sales vet Jonathan Nagel to head sales and marketing efforts for its new multiplatform engine.

Nagel, who was senior account manager for North America and Europe at Scaleform, will build and lead a division focused on Ready At Dawn's new game engine, heading up project evaluations, licensing models and support.

"We're excited to add someone of Jonathan's caliber to our licensing team," says studio president Didier Malenfant, President of Ready At Dawn Studios. "He brings with him a wealth of experience in the middleware licensing field and this further re-affirms our commitment to the engine licensing business as a priority for Ready At Dawn Studios.”

Ready At Dawn announced its entry into the engine biz in October of this year. It aims to create a complete console-native development platform that combines its own proprietary engine with integrated third-party tools and middleware that needs no additional licensed tech for AAA game development. It promises a data-driven tools pipeline and support for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP.

Says Nagel: "They have a proven track record in console game development and a compelling business model that wants to solve game developers problems, not just try to cram tech down your throat."
