Emergent, Fork Particle Announce Integration With Gamebryo Lightspeed

Emergent's Gamebryo and Gamebryo Lightspeed development systems will now integrate Fork Particle, a real-time particle effects middleware solution from the developer of the same name.

Licensees of both Fork Particle and Gamebryo Lightspeed will have access to the cross-platform Fork Particle Visual Effects Tool & SDK, which the companies say streamlines the particle effects production pipeline.

Fork Particle also enables real-time simulation of in-game effects, and the product integration also includes components that work with Lightspeed's ToolBench, run-time engine, and live updates.

Fork Particle says its middleware reduces iteration time, and provides developers with instant feedback in their creation of particle effects. It also offers an authoring tool aimed at reducing programming considerations.

Emergent sales and marketing VP Katie Morgan says: "Developers who license Fork Particle with Gamebryo or LightSpeed can now utilize additional rapid content development tools for spectacular particle effects, an essential component to leading real time graphics."
