Chukong spins out SDKBOX to double down on dev support
February 11, 2016 | By Chris Kerr

Newsbrief: Chinese mobile entertainment outfit Chukong is turning SDKBOX - an SDK manager that helps devs get to grips with third-party analytics, acquisition, monetization, and advertising tech - into its own company.

The new company will be led by Chukong's Kai Zhao, who says an autonomous SDKBOX will be better positioned to "focus resources and provide the widening spectrum of services that developers need to be competitive in the market.”

Chukong initially added SDKBOX to its Cocos2d-x game engine last year. Since then the company says over 4,500 games on over 20 million mobile devices have started using the framework.

Although it'll be a separate entity, SDKBOX will still have dedicated financial and strategic support from Chukong.
